The College Football Week 8 Lock is in the ACC, where the Miami Hurricanes take on the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The first thing that stands out about this game is the line. Although Georgia Tech is a better team on paper, the college football odds have the Hurricanes as two point favorites. Last week Georgia Tech was exposed by a mediocre Virginia team. They were stopped on the ground which is the strength of the Yellow Jackets offense. The triple-option is difficult to stop, but Virginia not only stopped the run, but they found holes in the defense. Georgia Tech gave up over 400 yards of offense and was rattled from the start. Now they face a Miami team that is seemingly getting better every week.
The Hurricanes started the season under a microscope for off the field events and had to deal with rumors and suspensions that engulfed the school. After avoiding the death sentence, Miami has started to play like a quality football team. Quarterback Jacory Harris is playing consistent football and has decreased his turnover ratio in his latest outings. After a win against North Carolina, Miami is poised to take down the Yellow Jackets.
The favorite has covered the number in four out of the last five outings in this game. The Yellow Jackets are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a loss, 1-4-1 ATS in their last six conference games, and 0-3-1 ATS in their last four games in October.
