After a wild and wacky week in college football that witnessed three teams in the top 5 lose, week 13 is going to get very interesting. The college football game of the week is easily the SEC game between the Arkansas Razorbacks and the LSU Tigers also known as the Battle For the Golden Boot.
The college football week 13 spread for this game opened with LSU as 14 point favorites. This is the opening line and will be subject to change as the game gets closer to kickoff.
Arkansas Razorbacks vs. LSU Tigers
The Arkansas Razorbacks took advantage of the losses and moved up from the No. 6 spot in the BCS Rankings, which makes this game even more important. This could be considered the SEC Championship game as the winner will have a chance to play for the National Championship.
If this game is anything like the previous matchups, it should be very entertaining. Last year LSU went on the road to take on Arkansas and lost 31-23. Arkansas amassed over 400 yards of offense against the vaunted Tigers defense and was able to hold on for the victory. The big offensive weapon for Arkansas in that game was signal-caller Ryan Mallett, who now plays for the New England Patriots. However, Tyler Wilson has stepped in this season and the Hogs offense has not skipped a beat. The last time these two teams met in Baton Rouge the home team Tigers narrowly escaped with a three point victory.
The Hogs enter this game at 10-1 on the season, with the lone loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide, who will also be watching this game closely. The Hogs are on a seven game winning streak and are driven by an explosive offense that has put at least 30 points on the board in six of the last seven games. Wilson is becoming a top notch quarterback in the SEC and is loaded with weapons on offense to distribute the ball to.
LSU is the undisputed No. 1 team in college football. They are undefeated and have had some very tough tests this year to include a neutral site game against Oregon, a road test against the Crimson Tide, and a total of six ranked opponents so far on the season. Head coach Les Miles is making magic in the Bayou and will need one more win to end the regular season with a perfect record.
The Razorbacks have a long list of college football trends in their favor heading into this game. In recent matchups the Razorbacks are 4-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last five meetings in Louisiana State and the Road team is 5-2 ATS in their last seven meetings. This is just the beginning.
The Razorbacks are 18-7 ATS in their last 25 games following a win, 16-5 ATS in their last 21 conference games, 20-6 ATS in their last 26 games after scoring more than 40 points in their previous game, 15-6 ATS when playing a team with a winning record, and 16-6 ATS in their last 22 games overall.
LSU on the other hand has some glaring betting trends that suggest they will not be able to cover the spread. The Tigers are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 home games when a team with a winning road record and 5-13 ATS in their last 18 games in November.
