The Wisconsin Badgers are the best team in the Big Ten. They are the talk of the town and are in the top tier of the BCS rankings. The Michigan State Spartans are playing very well, but going relatively unnoticed. They have a chance to change all of that if they can pull off the upset in week eight when they get a visit from the Badgers.

The opening college football spread for this game started with Wisconsin as six point favorites and has jumped considerably since the opening. With the majority of the public (87%) putting their money on the Badgers this line is now up to as high as nine points in many offshore sportsbooks. This line could approach the key number of ten as kickoff approaches.
The Michigan State Spartans took a step in the right direction with a big win over their rivals when they defeated the Michigan Wolverines. The Spartans are led by a very tough defense that is holding opponents in check. In fact they are holding the opposition to less than two touchdowns per contest. On offense they have a combination of skill and experience, led by Kirk Cousins under center. Cousins will have his hands full against a talented Badgers team that is looking to make a statement with this win.
Quarterback Russell Wilson has made an immediate impact on this Badger team and is directly responsible for the week-to-week explosive output. The Badgers own the number one scoring offense and have crushed the opposition with ease. Montee Ball and James White make up one of the fiercest backfields in the country, complete with two runners that can carry the load.
The Badgers are not too shabby on defense, as they rank in the top of the country with great performances on a weekly basis. On paper the Badgers, may have the edge, but games aren’t played on paper. The Spartans have a slew of sports betting trends in their favor.
The Spartans are 7-2 against the spread (ATS) against a team with a winning record, 7-3 ATS in their last 10 conference games, and -2-1 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous game.
The Spartans defense will rise to the occasion and keep this game closer than the experts think. The Spartans, plus the points, is the way to play this game, and don't be surprised if they pull off the upset of the week.
