College Football Week 13 Picks: Texas Longhorns vs. Texas A&M Aggies

In an annual tradition, the college football schedule for week 13 features one of the best rivalries, when the Texas Longhorns engage in battle with the Texas A&M Aggies. This Big 12 matchup brings out the best in both teams as they vie for bragging rights.
The opening college football odds for week 13 posted the Texas A&M Aggies as 7.5 point favorites and with a flurry of early betting money that number has been bet up to 8.5. The early betting was pushed by 66% of the public backing the Aggies. Much of this money is coming in on the Aggies after last week's results.
The Longhorns lost a game against Kansas State that they were favored in and so the public would much rather back a Texas A&M team that won by over 50 points, even if it was just against Kansas. The Longhorns have struggled on offense of late and now have to try and get things kick started against the Aggies defense. With Garrett Gilbert the Longhorns have attempted to become a ground and pound team, and it does not seem to be working.
If the Longhorns have a strength it's on defense as they were great in the last outing, allowing only 121 yards and eight first downs. That defense will be tested against the Aggies.
Not much can be taken out of the Aggies rout of Kansas, since the Jayhawks are such a bad team. However it should be noted that the Aggies are well balanced and it showed against Kansas, when the Aggies got outstanding play in every facet of the game. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill leads them into this game with their confidence at an all-time high. That confidence will be the edge in covering the number in this game.
The college football betting trends show how the Longhorns struggle in this spot. In the series the Longhorns are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 meetings in Texas A&M and the home team is 10-3 ATS in their last 13 meetings. This is all bad news for the Longhorns.
Overall the Longhorns are 7-19-1 ATS against a team with a winning record, 3-9 ATS in their last 12 conference games, and 8-17 ATS in their last 25 games overall.
The Longhorns defense is good, but not good enough to keep them in this game. The offense is sputtering and have become very one dimensional. The Longhorns will struggle in this game and get blown out against the Aggies.
