College Football Week 13 Predictions: Miami (Ohio) Redhawks vs. Ohio Bobcats

Week 13 college football picks once again turn to the MAC for an early season game between the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks and the Ohio Bobcats. Getting to know the MAC can be very profitable, considering that ESPN has chosen that conference to be featured in early week games.
The college football 13 week odds for this game opened with Ohio listed as a 6.5 point favorite. The public jumped in on the Bobcats at a 67% pace and this line has already been bumped up to 7.5 in some places. This could open up this game for a middle opportunity, if you were lucky enough to get in early.
The Redhawks lost a three point contest to Western Michigan and with that loss the chances of winning the MAC were lost. The Redhawks have kept games close, but have not had the killer instinct to finish with a big win. Quarterback Zac Dysert has shown promise and is off a game where he passed for over 400 yards. If the Redhawks have a weakness, it's the defense. Their defense was shredded by Western Michigan's high octane offense allowing over 400 yards in the loss. That defense will be tested again against a rock-solid Bobcat ground game.
QB Tyler Tettleton, Donte Harden, and Beau Blankenship are a three headed monster out of the backfield on the ground. Tettleton can also throw the ball effectively and is a main reason the Bobcats have the best record in the MAC East. Their defense is impressive as well allowing under 23 points per contest. Although the Bobcats are in the driver's seat they still need this victory if they want to avoid a tiebreaker.
The Favorite is 6-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last seven meetings and the Redhawks are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 meetings. The Redhawks are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as a road underdog of 3.5-10.0. The Bobcats are 28-13-2 ATS in their last 43 games following a win and 18-8 ATS in their last 26 conference games.
The Redhawks have injuries, a porous defense, and no reason to show up for this game against Ohio. The Bobcats will control the time of possession which will open up the passing game. Ohio has the home crowd and motivation to get the win. Look for a big in by the Bobcats as they cover this number.
