The College Football picks for week three always feature a "lock", a pick that someone believes will not lose. The term is also prone to be thought of as a jinx when it comes to picking winners, but I will release a "lock" every week and keep an updated record.
The college football week three lock of the week comes from the game between the Auburn Tigers against the Clemson Tigers.
Clemson is the Lock Of The Week
The No. 21 Auburn Tigers roll into this game off a huge upset against Mississippi State. They used a goal line stand to preserve the victory and go 2-0 on the season. The win erased an ugly win in week one over Utah State and showed glimpses of the team that won a national championship a year ago. Don't be fooled. When Auburn travels to Death Valley to take on Clemson, they will be exposed.
The college football sports betting odds are another indication that this game is in favor of Clemson. The home team is listed as home favorites over a ranked opponent. In the past this has been an indication that points to the home team winning.
Clemson is undervalued in this spot since they started the year with victories against Troy and Wofford. In fact Clemson had a very difficult time with Wofford, but it was because they were looking forward to this game against Auburn.
Sophomore quarterback Tajh Boyd has come a long way for Clemson and its paying off on the field. If Auburn has a weak spot, it's the defense that has allowed at least 34 points in every game this year. Clemson should be able to take advantage of this defense and put some points on the board.
Auburn is very resilient and never gives up in a game, but the streak ends as they will not be able to come back against Clemson at home. Auburn has plenty of sports betting trends that oppose them in this game, that are worth noting.
