UFC 134 takes place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil tonight, 27 August, with 12 bouts on the card. The feature fight is the one between Anderson Silva and Yushin Okami but we want to focus our MMA betting picks right now on the seven preliminary matchups.
Don't forget that live in-fight betting is available at BetDSI sportsbook on UFC 134. There are five bouts on the main card for UFC 134 and seven fights on the preliminary card.
Preliminary Matchups
Thiago Tavares -205 vs. Spencer Fisher
This is one of the two bouts set to be shown on Spike TV. Both fighters come into this bout badly needing a win as Tavares has lost four of his past eight while Fisher has lost three of four. Tavares will try and win by going to the ground while Fisher will look for a big strike. Fisher may be worth a shot at a nice price.
Rousimar Palhares -245 vs. Dan Miller
This is the other fight that will be shown on Spike TV. Palhares is a big favorite but these two look very evenly matched. Both have strong submission games and that is where this fight is likely to be won. Miller is worth a shot at a big price.
Paulo Thiago -410 vs. David Mitchell
Thiago is heavily favored in MMA betting and he will have a huge edge fighting in Brazil. He is also very motivated coming off two losses and should get an easy win against Mitchell.
Raphael Assuncao -165 vs. Johnny Eduardo
This fight has the closes MMA betting odds of any of the preliminary bouts and it is really a toss-up. One of the two will likely win by submission so why not take the price with Eduardo?
Erick Silva -275 vs. Luis Ramos
These two are both making their UFC debuts and the price seems awfully high on two evenly matched fighters. Maybe Silva gets the win by decision but the value is with Ramos.
Yuri Alcantara -415 vs. Felipe Arantes
This is a big price but Alcantara should win. He is the more experienced fighter and has more weapons to get the victory over Arantes.
Ian Loveland -205 vs. Yves Jabouin
This is probably the last stand for Jabouin in the UFC. He has lost three of his last four and badly needs a win. He is dropping down in weight so he will have the advantage early but if he doesn't get a first round knockout he will probably get worn down.
