The NFL Odds in Week Four have been released and there are some interesting numbers that have been posted.
In order to successfully bet on football it is important to investigate the early line. The sharps and wise guys always wager on football as soon as the line is posted. This is because they take advantage of suspect lines. Although you may not be considered a wise guy this is something that should also be performed by the recreational football bettor.
Here is a look at the opening lines in the NFL for week four along with the moves and public picks.
Buffalo Bills at Cincinnati Bengals
The Buffalo Bills are getting some love from the public after the big win over the Patriots. They opened as three point road favorites which is almost unheard of for this franchise. They are currently pulling 80% of the public money and there is no doubt that this will jump the key number and hit 3.5 before kickoff.
New England Patriots at Oakland Raiders
The Patriots were exposed on defense against the Bills and face an interesting situation this week. Both the Patriots and the Raiders are public teams, but the Patriots received the early money and the line opened at 6 and was bet down to 4.5. This could even out with late money.
Detroit Lions at Dallas Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys opened as favorites of three points, but that was quickly bet down and as of now the Cowboys are slim one point favorites. This is most likely due to the injuries of the Cowboys and the fact that the Lions are on a roll.
New York Jets at Baltimore Ravens
The Sunday night game is a big one as the Jets and the Ravens do battle on the football field. The Ravens opened up as 4.5 point favorites and that was quickly bet down to 3.5. In early betting the Ravens are actually the public play which means the sharp action is on the Jets.
