NFL Season Win Totals NFL teams will be going through dress rehearsal this weekend as the preseason draws to a close and the start of the regular season creeps up.

With four weeks worth of exhibition games in the books -- more than ample opportunity for bettors to examine numbers. Let’s have a look at some of these NFL Lines, provided by SPORTSBETTING.co m

The Pittsburgh Steelers will open the season as defending Super Bowl champions with the Total for their regular season wins set at 10.5 and it won’t be impossible for the Steelers to rack up 11 wins this season.

Pittsburgh is on a bit of a hot streak against the AFC North, going 7-0 SU in its last seven games against divisional opponents.

The Steelers have a matchup against San Diego in Week 4 and are 7-1 in their last eight against the Chargers.

The defending champs will play the woeful Detroit Lions (see below) the following week and have gone 6-1 SU against the Lions dating back to 1986.

A date with the Oakland Raiders in Week 13 should be good for Pittsburgh’s W/L column; they are 5-2 SU in their last seven against the Silver and Black.

The sports betting community has weighed in and they like the Steelers to win 11 or more, as 76% of all the action on this Season Win Total has been on the “Over”.

- The 2008 Detroit Lions outdid the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers with an 0-16 record.

Though forecasted to be in the NFC North cellar once again by many experts, the Lions couldn’t possibly go two seasons without wining a game, could they? …no they won’t, but the question for sports bettors is can they win more than five games? That’s the number their Season Win Total has been set at.

Frankly, the prospects don’t look good for six wins or more.

Detroit has lost nine-straight games (0-9 SU) against fellow teams from the NFC North.

The AFC division that will provide competition for the Lions this season is the AFC North and again the Lions have struggled against teams from this division.

Detroit is 1-6 SU against Pittsburgh and 1-5 SU against Cincinnati but they are 4-1 SU in their last five against the old Cleveland-Baltimore franchise.

SPORTSBETTING.co m is reporting 60% of the action on the “Under” 5 wins for the Lions heading into the new season.

- The Miami Dolphins went from 1-15 in 2007 to 11-5 in 2008, but it is going to be very difficult to reach 11 wins again this year. A step back appears to be a real possibility -- they have one of the hardest schedules in the league this season.

This explains why their Over/Under number for regular season wins is set at 7.

They do have to play New England twice (Brady is back and the Dolphins are 4-9 SU in their last 13 against the Pats).

Miami will have its home opener in Week 2 against Indianapolis, another tough opponent (in fact September is a tough month for this team).

Houston has been an Achilles’ heel for the Dolphins as they’ve never defeated the Texans, with a record of 0-4 SU.

The Tennessee Titans had the best record in all the NFL last season at 13-3. Miami faces Tennessee in Week 15 and has gone 7-2 SU in its last nine against the former Houston Oilers.

The Dolphins will play the Chargers in Week 3 and Miami has been on a bit of a roll going 7-0 SU in its last seven San Diego games.

Bettors are backing seven wins or more for the Dolphins, as 73% of all the action is pegged on the “Over”.
