This is it, the last game of the NFL season and the biggest game of the year, the Super Bowl. In Super bowl XLVI the New York Giants will take on the New England Patriots in Indianapolis.
The New York Giants are the hot team coming into the big game and they have ripped off several impressive victories to get to this point to include wins over two of the best teams in the NFC in Green Bay and San Francisco.
Many were very surprised when the odds opened up with the New England Patriots as three point favorites.
Eli Manning is playing better football than any other quarterback in the league, yes this includes Tom Brady. Manning is showing that he should be an elite quarterback and that he is clutch, winning plenty of games in the fourth quarter. Victor Cruz and Hakeem Nicks will give the Patriots secondary fits and open up the defense to start running the ball successfully in the big game.
On the other side of the ball the Patriots will attempt to keep this game close with Tom Brady. Brady is one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL and has shined on the big stage in the past, however he is known to struggle under pressure.
The front four of the Giants will be able to pressure Brady led by Jason Pierre-Paul who is quickly becoming one of the league's deadliest disruptors up front. His constant pressure will leave Brady scrambling all game and that is not his game. Brady has struggled this year against some of the leagues tougher defenses to include Pittsburgh and Baltimore, and he will struggle against the Giants. This pressure will allow the Giants to keep linebackers back in coverage to cover the tight ends.
The wrong team is favored in this game and the Giants are going to use that underdog role to their advantage to inspire them to a big performance on the biggest stage of them all. Eli will officially enter the "elite" category with his second super bowl victory and the MVP trophy.
Final prediction: Giants 33 Patriots 20
