The college football schedule for week ten features the ACC match up under the prime time lights as the Boston College Eagles go up against the Florida State Seminoles.
The college football odds for week ten opened with the Seminoles listed as 16 point favorites. That line has dropped to 14.5 in many offshore sportsbooks indicating that smart money is backing the home dog in this contest. The public consensus shows that over 80% of the public and the early betting money is coming in on the Noles as they head towards kickoff.
The Boston College Eagles are having a horrible 2011 season. They are just 2-6 on the season and 1-4 in the conference. The only wins on the season were against the University of Massachusetts and the Terrapins of Maryland. The Eagles will be lucky if they are bowl eligible this season.
After a tough stretch of three straight losses the Florida State Seminoles have established a modest three game win streak. EJ Manuel leads the way at quarterback and since returning from injury he has been consistent and teamed with a blazing quick defense the Noles have been tough to beat. This of course is a tough spot for the Noles.
They could easily look past an Eagles team that will treat this game like their bowl game. They will have a national television audience and a chance to erase some of the miserable season with a big win over a top team. They won as an outright underdog and are an underdog at home and riding high with confidence after the victory over Maryland.
The Seminoles are 7-18-1 against the spread (ATS) in their last 26 games following a SU win of more than 20 points, 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games after allowing less than 275 total yards in their previous game, and 1-5-1 ATS in their last seven Thursday games.
The Eagles are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a home underdog of 10.5 or greater and the underdog is 5-0 in the last five against the spread. The Eagles play tough and catch the Noles napping by keeping this game close.
