U.S. health officials have reported that they have now received 167 reported cases of Salmonella from tomatoes from 17 states. Representatives from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said they are continuing to search for the source of the Salmonella outbreak, which has hit hardest in New Mexico and Texas. Public fear has driven speculation regarding the food they ingest through the roof, and people are wondering if anything is safe to eat anymore.
