Following additional recent action against online gaming companies by the US Department of Justice, there have been a significant number of online casinos that have stopped taking new player registrations.
The companies involved have not reported whether or not their decision was made in response to actions by the US Government, however that the announcements were made so shortly following the recent domain seizures of USA-facing online poker and sportsbook companies does tend to lead one to think that the timing is not a coincidence, and that these brands could possibly be closing their doors completely very soon.
Prominent USA-facing online casino brands Caribbean Gold, English Harbour, Millionaire Casino, Silver Dollar, Slots Galore, Super Slots and VIP Slots recently announced that they would stop accepting new players.
That was followed by a similar announcement from Online Vegas, Go Casino, Crazy Slots, and Grand Vegas.
Online gaming companies continue to go through turmoil as they face regulatory challenges. The trend towards consolidation with smaller companies getting shaken out of the market completely and larger companies solidifying their stake in other markets will likely continue.
