While no official announcement has been made in regards to a specific date, the U.S. House Ways and Means Committee is slated to discuss the Internet Gambling Regulation and Tax Enforcement Act, introduced by Washington state representative Jim McDermott, sometime this month.
If the hearing actually does take place, it will be the first time the bill is discussed in Congress on its own merits, those being how licensing online gaming will serve as a revenue stream for the government.
