Legal Parlay Betting on NFL Proves Popular in Delaware

Delaware Park, Dover Downs and Harrington Raceway all had strong showings last weekend as bettors flocked to the casinos to participate in the first full Sunday schedule of games they could legally bet on in the state of Delaware.

Approximately 200 people arrived at the Delaware Park sports book prior to the 1 p.m. start of Philadelphia vs. Baltimore, and the majority of them had parlay, teaser, and superteaser cards in their hands as the watched the day's matchups on a bank of 26 tv screens.

Dover Downs reported a similar scenario with roughly 200 people crammed into the sports book there.

Had a United States Appeals Court not prohibited Delaware from allowing bets on single game matchups, responses from sports fans would have probably been still more favorable.
